Previous Events
The history of the IFIP Performance conferences goes back to the 1970's. Before 1981 the conference was organized under different names:
- 1976: International Workshop on Modelling and Performance Evaluation of Computer Systems (Varese, Italy)
- 1979: International Symposium on Modelling and Performance Evaluation of Computer Systems (Vienna, Austria)
- 1980: Performance '80, IFIP WG7.3 Conference (Toronto, Canada)
The first appearance of the shorthand "Performance 'xx" was introduced in 1980. The current extended title ("International Symposium on Computer Performance, Modeling, Measurements and Evaluation") was first used in 1981.
