The Conference

Welcome to the registration page for the 24th International Conference on Knowledge Engineering and Knowledge Management (EKAW-24). The conference will be held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, at the Amsterdam Science Park campus from November 26th to November 28th, 2024. We are excited to gather scholars, researchers, and practitioners from around the world for high-quality research presentations, stimulating discussions, and valuable networking opportunities.

The registration fees are as follows:

  • Student early bird: €250 (until 17/10)
  • Student late registration: €350 (until 19/11)

  • Regular early bird: €550 (until 17/10)
  • Regular late registration: €650 (until 19/11)

Please note that each accepted paper in the main conference requires at least one author to register at the regular fee. The maximum capacity for the conference center is 150 participants. Additionally, since the restaurant where the social dinner will take place has a maximum capacity, dinner tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, we encourage you to register early to secure your spot at the dinner!

The registration fee covers conference halls and equipment, lunches, coffee breaks, a social event, a social dinner, keynote speakers, and awards. Before attending our conference, first check if you need a visa. European citizens do not need a visa, and some non-European citizens may also be exempt. If a visa is required, you will likely need a short-stay Schengen visa, which allows you to stay up to 90 days in any 180-day period within the Schengen area, including the Netherlands. Boat Tour

We are pleased to announce the social events at EKAW. On Tuesday, November 26th, join us for a scenic boat tourfrom 18:00 to 20:00, starting at Central Station and cruising through the canals, with drinks and snacks provided.

Social Dinner

On Wednesday, November 27th, we will host a social dinner at Hemelse Modder, offering a varied menu with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. We look forward to seeing you at these events!


Tourist Information/Moving Around

Amsterdam boasts an efficient and extensive public transportation system, making it easy to explore the city and its surrounding areas. The Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) operates the train services, connecting Amsterdam to other major cities in the Netherlands and beyond. For local travel within Amsterdam, the GVB operates trams, buses, and metro services. You can use your bank card for contactless payment on all GVB vehicles, or opt for a convenient day ticket if you plan on making multiple journeys.

Local Tip 1: Don’t forget to check out!

Don't forget to check in and out when using public transport to ensure you're charged the correct fare. Failure to check out could result in additional charges, so always remember to tap your card, ticket, or bank card at the end of your journey.

How to get to CWI

Take the 40 bus (direction Muiderpoortstation, platform A4) from Amstelstation to CWI (the bus stop Science Park Aer), it takes 10 minutes.

How to get to the city centre from CWI

Take a train from the station Science park (platform 2) to Amsterdam Centraal, which takes 8 minutes.

Local Tip 2: Biking around

Embrace the Dutch way of getting around – cycling! Amsterdam is famously bike-friendly, and exploring the city on two wheels gives you a unique perspective. Don't worry if you didn't bring your own bike. You can easily rent one through various rental shops across the city.
