         The Inliner: a Core Engine for
         Refactoring and Module Systems

The inliner is often considered as something deep down in a compiler,
something that might be triggered if the compiler should so decide. In
this presentation we look at the inliner from a different perspective:
as a specialised rewrite tool for code. As such we can use it for many
of the standard refactoring transformations in modern IDEs: renaming,
change of method signatures, specialisation of code. Such refactorings
may then be used as the basis for a powerful module system and reuse
mechanism.
