Dear fellow SWATers,

Let me have the honour of reviving the SWAT/PEM colloquiums in 2012:
http://event.cwi.nl/pem/ After Bas's departure, the organiser's hat
has been inherited by yours truly.

This Thursday, January 19, 2012, let us have the first presentation, which
will also be given by me since I wanted to (re)start this series by
synchronising with all of you about its goals and objectives.
The talk will consist of two parts: the administrative one and the
scientific one. The badly itemised abstracts follow.

SWAT/PEM Colloquiums Organisation

- Retargeting the SWAT/PEM meetings
- Every week strictly one presentation (no more, no less)
- Thursdays, 11:00, L016 (tentative)
- Everybody tries to attend, the topics are announced the day before
- Only one hour including discussion, firm deadline in the form of lunch
- Polished presentations get announced as PEM talks
- All team members give talks from time to time
- We regularly invite external speakers for PEM

The colloquium will take place in L016, unless I'm unable to book it, in
which case we will end up in "the Fishtank" (the room with glass walls in
the centre of our floor) and you will see another apologising email from
me. In any case, hope to see [most of] you there!

Subject: [correction] January 20, 11:00, L017: SWAT Colloquium

Dear fellow SWATers,

To my surprise, some SWATers have already been secretly conspiring to
give their presentations this week. Also, Thursday the 19th turns out
to be the day when some key researchers are not present at the CWI,
and since this is the first occasion of the year, let us be soft and
understanding this time.

So, here is a new plan: we meet this Friday, at 11:00, in L017 (the
Ada room, next to our usual Hypatia).
I will give a short intro about organising the PEM/SWAT colloquiums in 2012.
This will not take much time, but we apparently need some
synchronisation to prevent further misunderstandings.

I apologise for possible confusion. Next SWAT Colloquium presentation
will be on Thursday (January 26).
