Subject: SEN1 Meeting tomorrow: Jouke Stoel From: Bas Basten To: sen1-list Date: Tue, 22 Nov 2011 12:08:32 +0100 (CET) Dear all, At tomorrow's SEN1 Meeting, Jouke Stoel will give a talk about his Master's project: Title: Finding Naming Bugs in Method Names using Nano-Patterns and Formal Concept Analysis Abstract: Program comprehension is a major part of software maintenance. Earlier research has shown that identifiers have a big impact on comprehensibility. For instance, using the wrong name for a method leads to spoiled comprehension in numerous other places. Given this, it is strange that there is little support in choosing the right name while developing. In this talk we will show that it is possible to automatically detect so called Naming Bugs using Nano-Patterns. Also an alternate approach is presented in finding these naming bugs using Formal Concept Analysis. Some early results can be shown but, because this research is still work-in-progress, most of it still has to be gathered. As usual, we start at 10am in room L016. Hope to see you all there! Cheers, Bas
