Subject: [pem-list] PEM Talk Jurgen Vinju - tomorrow 10am From: Bas Basten To: pem-list Date: Wed, 12 Jan 2011 15:23:56 +0100 (CET) Dear all, You are cordially invited to the first talk in our renewed PEM Talk series. Since SEN1 has recently gained a lot of new members, the format of the talks is changed to increase the internal communication of our group. Every session will now consist of an informal talk by 1 or 2 group members about their current work, followed by other 'managerial' announcements/discussions. There will be a session every Thursday from 10am to 11am. Of course, we also still organize occasional talks by external visitors. The first talk will be given by Jurgen Vinju, and is titled: "Maintenance Complexity: a new metric" Abstract: In our next paper we study the difference in maintainability between the Visitor design pattern and the Interpreter design pattern for the design of interpreters for programming languages. Existing metrics for maintainability do not suffice. We'll get into that. The new metric does provide insight. The goal of this talk is to solicit feedback on the concept of this new metric to identify all of its strengths and weaknesses. Time: Thursday 13 January, 10am Location: Room L016, CWI I hope to see you all there! Best regards, Bas Basten
