talks of next Monday are rescheduled to Friday, August 29. The location

Talk 1: Refactoring (in) Eclipse
Speaker: Jeroen van den Bosch

Abstract: The Eclipse Java Development Tools probably contains the
most extensive refactoring tool currently available, supporting over
40 different refactorings. Since it is also open source, it is an
ideal environment to examine how these refactorings are developed.
Some issues have been discovered in precondition checking code and a
solution proposed to solve them: precondition checks have been
extracted, encapsulated and associated with individual refactorings
again through Java annotations. This relieves refactoring developers
from implementing application flow concerns as well as promote
extensive reuse.
