This process can be facilitated through the use of program understanding methods and tools. In this talk, we will focus on the well-known program slicing technique and we show how it can be adapted to support DRE. We will present a DML-independent program slicing approach involving the analysis of database operations as a first stage. We will then describe a tool based upon this approach and report on two industrial DRE projects. Finally, we will show a demo of the DB operations analysis tool, implemented (of course) using the ASF+SDF Meta-Environment Cheers, Jurgen
