PLEASE NOTE THAT WE START AT 9:30 THIS TIME. This announcement can be found at SGLR in Java Date: 17.03.05 Time: 09:30 Venue: H220 (Nikhef) Speaker: Cathal Boogerd Title: SGLR in Java The current implementation of the Scannerless Generalized LR parser used in the Meta Environment is not an appealing tool for use in experiments. The many optimizations applied and features added make extending it a difficult task. Moreover, within the Meta-Environment there is a general inclination toward Java, so it is important that SGLR too takes this step. Therefore, a new implementation of SGLR was written in Java, taking particular care to create a flexible and extensible structure. As a proof of concept, the new implementation was extended with the hybrid technique used in the Elkhound parser generator. _________________________________________________________________ The programming environment meetings are a forum for the presentation and discussion of new ideas, ongoing and finished work. A typical meeting addresses a subject in the area of programming environments, program generation, algebraic specification, term rewriting, parsing, etc. A presentation ideally takes between 45 and 90 minutes. Meetings taking longer than 45 minutes are interrupted by a coffeebreak. Most Thursdays, a meeting is held which starts at 10:00 am. in one of the rooms at CWI/WINS. Exceptionally, dates or times may change. The program of the meetings is available on WWW: http://www.cwi.nl/~pem _________________________________________________________________
