You are invited to attend his presentation. This announcement can be found at A Run-time Feature Realization Approach based on Domain-Specific Platforms Date: 2.07.04 Time: 13:30 Venue: M279 Speaker: Alexandre Braganca Title: A Run-time Feature Realization Approach based on Domain-Specific Pl atforms The reuse approach to software engineering has been widely adopted in the software industry. In order to implement such an approach, variability realization mechanisms are needed. These allow the implementation of the variants in a product line, and can be applied at several stages in the software development process. If these mechanisms are used at later stages of the development process, the resulting applications will exhibit a higher degree of variability. This is the case of I2S, a Portuguese software house specialized in software solutions for the insurance industry. Resulting from the need to handle specific requirements from almost all of its customers, and because of the nature of the insurance domain, the company has developed an approach based on a domain-specific language. We present the work we have done at I2S, within the context of our PhD research, extending the I2S DSL approach to a domain-specific platform approach. _________________________________________________________________ The programming environment meetings are a forum for the presentation and discussion of new ideas, ongoing and finished work. A typical meeting addresses a subject in the area of programming environments, program generation, algebraic specification, term rewriting, parsing, etc. A presentation ideally takes between 45 and 90 minutes. Meetings taking longer than 45 minutes are interrupted by a coffeebreak. Most Thursdays, a meeting is held which starts at 10:00 am. in one of the rooms at CWI/WINS. Exceptionally, dates or times may change. The program of the meetings is available on WWW: http://www.cwi.nl/~pem _________________________________________________________________
