A new date for this PEM to be announced shortly. This announcement can be found at Testability of Object-Oriented Systems: a Metrics-based Approach Date: 18.09.03 Time: 10:00 Venue: Z.009 Speaker: Magiel Bruntink Title: Testability of Object-Oriented Systems: a Metrics-based Approach The testability of a software system is defined as ``attributes of software that bear on the effort needed to validate the software product''. In other words, the testability of a software systems is indicative of the amount of effort needed to test the system. My master's thesis research consisted of the definition and evaluation of a set of object-oriented metrics that are thought to measure testability. The metrics were evaluated by means of two case studies of large Java systems: DocGen, the documentation generation program in development at the Software Improvement Group, and Apache Ant, the famous build tool. In this talk I will present my approach to the assessment of testability, and provide some details on related work. _________________________________________________________________ The programming environment meetings are a forum for the presentation and discussion of new ideas, ongoing and finished work. A typical meeting addresses a subject in the area of programming environments, program generation, algebraic specification, term rewriting, parsing, etc. A presentation ideally takes between 45 and 90 minutes. Meetings taking longer than 45 minutes are interrupted by a coffeebreak. Most Thursdays, a meeting is held which starts at 10:00 am. in one of the rooms at CWI/WINS. Exceptionally, dates or times may change. The program of the meetings is available on WWW: http://www.cwi.nl/~pem _________________________________________________________________
