This announcement can be found at Source Based Software Risk Assessment Date: 13.03.03 Time: 10:00 Venue: F013 (UvA) Speaker: Tobias Kuipers Title: Source Based Software Risk Assessment [Joint work with Arie van Deursen] In this talk, a method for software risk assessments that takes into account ``primary facts'' and ``secondary facts'' is described. Primary facts are those obtained through automatically analyzing the source code of a system, and secondary facts are those facts obtained from people working with or on the system, and available documentation. Through a number of real world examples we will describe how both types of facts are retrieved, and how the interpretation gap between the raw facts (either primary or secondary) and a concise risk assessment is bridged. This includes concrete, operational recommendations to minimize the risk. This method has been developed while performing numerous risk assessments, and is continuously being fine-tuned. We will solicit the audience's input in improving this method. Have a nice day. _________________________________________________________________ The programming environment meetings are a forum for the presentation and discussion of new ideas, ongoing and finished work.
