This PEM I will explore the field of ORM a little more based on experiences I've had with the Enterprise Object Framework (EOF) we use at the Software Improvement Group. Main topics will be: * Application Architecture: + Three tier Architecture * Object Relational Mapping + Mapping Entities to Classes + Modelling Relationships + Modelling Inheritance * Dillemmas + Non 1:1 Entity-Class Mapping + Modelling Relationships as Classes * Performance Tuning + Boundaries + Smart Fault Management Furthermore I will show some hands-on EOF examples. A typical meeting addresses a subject in the area of programming environments, program generation, algebraic specification, term rewriting, parsing, etc. A presentation ideally takes between 45 and 90 minutes. Meetings taking longer than 45 minutes are interrupted by a coffeebreak. Most Thursdays, a meeting is held which starts at 10:00 am. in one of the rooms at CWI/WINS.
