Customers may require specific adaptions to DocGen and each of them may introduce new functionality. This increasing number of variation points in the DocGen application is causing serious configuration and development problems. In this talk, we discuss techniques for modelling the variation points of DocGen, as well as techniques for expressing and validating DocGen configurations. We describe techniques that automatically map such configurations to corresponding implementations, including techniques for product assembly from source packages, build time reflection, and customer specializations. Moreover, we describe how to use these mechanisms in order to initiate and evolve a DocGen product line. We demonstrate these techniques using a prototype DocGen product line. joint work with Arie van Deursen and Tobias Kuipers Have a nice day. _________________________________________________________________ The programming environment meetings are a forum for the presentation and discussion of new ideas, ongoing and finished work. A typical meeting addresses a subject in the area of programming environments, program generation, algebraic specification, term rewriting, parsing, etc. A presentation ideally takes between 45 and 90 minutes. Meetings taking longer than 45 minutes are interrupted by a coffeebreak. Most Thursdays, a meeting is held which starts at 10:00 am. in one of the rooms at CWI/WINS. Exceptionally, dates or times may change. The program of the meetings is available on WWW: http://www.cwi.nl/~jurgenv/pem/index.html _________________________________________________________________
