Bas Toeter will present the results of his masters thesis on source code transformation with XSLT. This announcement can be found at Student PEM - Transforming Powerbuilder Applications to Java Date: 9.08.01 Time: 10:00 Venue: M.279 Speaker: Bas Toeter Title: Student PEM - Transforming Powerbuilder Applications to Java The research for my thesis has been about the reuse of 4GL PowerBuilder client server applications in a Three-Tier intranet environment based on Java technology. The challenges of this work were in the difference between client/server and three-tier technology and in the difference between the PowerBuilder and Java languages. During the PEM I explain some of the intricate differences between PowerBuilder and Java and will shed light on how I used XML and XSLT to transform the PowerBuilder object structure to a Java object structure. _________________________________________________________________ The programming environment meetings are a forum for the presentation and discussion of new ideas, ongoing and finished work.
