Amsterdam Central Station is located right in the centre of Amsterdam. From there it is easy to complete your journey with public transport or taxi.

Public transport

Amsterdam has an extensive public transport network (train, tram, metro, bus and ferry). You need an "OV-chipcard" to use it. An "Anonymous OV-chipcard" costs 7.50 Euro and can be bought at Schiphol airport, all train stations and stores that sell magazines. You need to load credit to the card before you can use it (which can be done at any railway station). Please always make sure that you check in/out using this card when you enter/leave the respective public transport means.

There are also some other visitor passes that might be more convenient for you (depending on the duration of your stay and your travel plans). For more information see public transport.
