Subject: SEN1 meeting tomorrow 10am by Paul Klint From: H.J.S. Basten To: sen1-list Date: Wed, 26 Jan 2011 13:42:25 +0100 (CET) Dear all, At tomorrow's SEN1 meeting Paul Klint will talk about software visualization. You are cordially invited. ----- Title: First Steps towards Interactive Software Visual Analytics Abstract: Over the last few years we have been working on the Rascal framework that has the ambition to become a "one-stop-shop" for meta-programming and will help to more easily solve problems in software analysis, software transformation and design and implementation of domain-specific languages. Typical problems we address are: * Extracting facts from source code and other software-related artifacts such as version repositories, execution traces, documentation and others. * Computing with these facts and transforming them. * Synthesizing results ranging from generating source code (the result of refactoring, code generation, or compilation) to generating web pages and visualizations (the result of analysis). This talk focusses on the interplay between fact extraction, computation and visualization. After a brief summary of the current status of our visualization infrastructure (vis::Figure) I will explain my current ideas on adding interaction to these visualizations and solicit your feedback and suggestions. ----- We start as usual at 10am in room L016. See you then! Cheers, Bas
